Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The following Acceptable Use Policy applies to users of the MegaGate Internet site. Please read carefully the following as your usage of our system is your acceptance of the policies listed here. If there are any revisions to this policy, they will be noted on our Internet site. Your continued use of MegaGate Internet after those revisions have been posted constitutes your acceptance of those revised provisions.

MegaGate's Internet site provides our customers with a gateway to a worldwide Internet system. MegaGate cannot vouch for the accuracy or quality of information you may receive from other sites accessed through our site. 

If you have a MegaGate Internet account or pay your MegaGate bill online, you have been or will be issued an individual password for access. It is the responsibility of the customer to monitor usage by disseminating his/her password only to authorized users of his/her account. If you feel your password has been inadvertently shared with others, you may call Internet Support and change your password.

MegaGate offers Internet support by telephone from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 pm midnight on Saturdays, except holidays.

If a MegaGate Internet customer uses our Internet site for any illegal means, including copyright infringement; knowingly distributes worms, viruses, or other methods of disrupting the computer systems of other users; pirates software; engages in illegal schemes; or either receives or transmits child pornography, MegaGate will immediately disconnect such customer.

A MegaGate Internet customer is not allowed to send spam via our website or email system; use deceptive headers to conceal obscene documents; or harass, threaten or engage in any fraudulent activity. Doing any of these may lead to immediate disconnection of your account by MegaGate.

MegaGate will notify law enforcement agencies of any illegal use of our web site and cooperate with authorities in any investigation of such activity.

If you choose to order products or services from sites accessed through the MegaGate site, we are not responsible for the privacy policies or security of those sites. We will not be liable for any transactions or problems that result from usage of other sites.

You are responsible for any telephone toll charges incurred while using our dial up, DSL, or T1 services.  Access numbers for Mississippi residents can be found on our web site at: http://support.megagate.com/numbers/access.html

Your MegaGate Internet service will be charged one month in advance. If you choose to disconnect service, you must notify Internet Support by telephone or by mail that you wish to disconnect. Your disconnect will be effective the last day of the month in which you notified us that you wanted to disconnect. After disconnecting, you will still be responsible for any charges that accrued prior to disconnecting service.
